The city of Vologda organised an international forum, titled "Vologda Upgrade, Investments in Tourism" on february 15 and 16, 2013. Jos Cuijpers was one of the speakers. The title of his speech was: "Heritage Design, How to survive the crisis by making use of historical resourses".

Heritage as a source of income, the development of culture tourism and strategic heritage planning were the topics of the speech.
